Bossa Rhythm Project lives by the principle that beautiful melodies and soothing rhythms create the utmost in pleasurable listening for an audience. To spend an evening with Bossa Rhythm Project is to spend an evening with no rough edges, no overbearing solos; only the smooth and pleasant sounds made by a group of musicians with years of experience performing at the highest levels of the profession. A typical Bossa Rhythm Project set could include a variety of familiar and obscure Latin standards, Brazilian bossa novas as well as inventive original compositions and a few eclectic surprises sprinkled in for variety.
Bossa Rhythm Project features celebrated vocalist/percussionist Amy Langley who has had a long career in Europe and America singing a wide range of styles. Acoustic guitarist Louie Levinson spent many years playing the vibrant Latin and jazz music scene in Chicago before moving back to his home state of Arizona. Howard Wooten, a born and bred Tucsonan, is well known as a top notch, first call guitarist on the local music landscape for decades, performing in groups backing countless national touring acts and has composed music for many television specials and commercials over the years. Bassist Jack Wood is a respected and studious musician who has at one time or another accompanied nearly every jazz musician in Tucson.
